Our story

CAQA PrintWorks Media

CAQA PrintWorks Media is a commercial printer producing marketing collateral, catalogues, books, folding cartons, labels and retail signage for brands, publishers, schools, councils and packaging buyers across south eastern Australia. The plant runs sheetfed offset presses, two production digital presses, a flexographic label line and a wide format department, backed by a full bindery with guillotines, folders, saddle stitchers, perfect binders and die cutting. Clients send artwork through the online portal, prepress preflights and proofs it, and the job moves through press, finishing and dispatch on a single electronic job ticket that every department can see.

The business runs from a production plant in Dandenong South with a separate signage studio in Geelong and a small sales office in Parramatta. Production works two shifts, day shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and afternoon shift from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, with a maintenance window every Friday afternoon. Six departments cover client services and estimating, prepress and design, the press room, finishing and packaging, signage and wide format, and warehouse, dispatch and safety. A leadership team of the general manager and six department leads meets every Monday to review the week's schedule, quality issues and safety actions.

Quality is managed through a documented job workflow, ISO 12647 based colour control, in-line inspection at every handover and a non-conformance register that feeds a monthly improvement meeting. Safety is built around machine guarding, lockout before maintenance, manual handling controls and strict handling of inks, solvents and cleaning chemicals under the Victorian occupational health and safety framework. Waste paper, plate aluminium and solvent are segregated and recycled, and the business reports annually under the packaging covenant. Client artwork and customer data are held under a privacy and information security policy, and every controlled document carries a code, owner, version and review date.
