The situation

What has happened

Month end stocktake is due for paper rack A and the press room ink store. Sam Whitlock is committed to the forklift on the count day and has asked you to do the count and reconcile it against the Paper and Consumables Stock system. Several items are near or below their reorder levels, including uncoated 120 gsm text stock that is needed for the cookbook reprint in October and process cyan ink that is already on order. Forklift 1 is tagged out, so any high pallets must be brought down by Sam on forklift 2 before you count them.

Your brief. Count the two areas safely, reconcile the counts with the stock system, correct the records, flag every item below its reorder level and prepare a reorder request for Renee Okafor with the reasons.

What to look for

Evidence guide

Evidence must show a physical count reconciled against system records with variances investigated, not just copied figures. Look for correct status updates, a reorder request that links quantities to upcoming jobs, and a safe counting method that avoids climbing and the forklift zone. Hazard reports demonstrate awareness of storage risks.

The student's evidence summary lists every record they created or changed in the systems named above, their notes and the tasks they ticked. Verify it against the deliverables and your own assessment tool.
